Primary Celebrates Excellence

At the end of their time at Start-Rite Primary School, it is important that we celebrate our pupils’  time here, their achievements and the friendships they have made. Our Year Six Graduation is a very special event where we celebrate in song, poem, and awards.

Graduation is the highlight of the Year Six student’s year as parents and family celebrate their achievements in the Primary Years and really value this final event for their children as they move on to the next stage of their lives.

This year’s Graduation Presentation honoured the year six students with a dazzling display of talent with the theme Excellence Beyond Limitations.

Looking very grown-up, the young ladies and gentlemen entered the hall, in their red and white dinner suits and ball gowns, to a standing ovation of parents, teachers, friends and relatives.

The Secondary School pupils opened the ceremony and the year six students later made a presentation of a dance in which they celebrated the unity in diverse cultures of  Nigeria and showcased traditional dances of Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa which spoke of hope and resilience.

Other presentations included Secondary School STEAM presentation the School Orchestra playing Classics like “Ode to Joy” and “La Paloma”,  a dance presentation by the Ballet club as well as presentations from the  African Dance and Drama Club amongst others.

Year three gave a very interesting and inspiring presentation on this terms living value; Dignity.

Head Girl, Awele Okonmah gave the valedictory speech on behalf of her classmates and expressed her joy in graduating with such an honour.  She recounted memories of her earlier years in Start-Rite School; she said on becoming the person she is was due to the teachers who did their best to make sure she was the best.  She is, however, excited to start a new journey in Start-Rite Secondary School come September.

Following the final speeches, awards were presented to acknowledge the outstanding achievements in the areas of academics and for school competitions over the year.
