It has been said that “Road Safety Education plays an important role in shaping the attitudes and behaviours of young people – ensuring they become responsible drivers and passengers.”
Recently, the members of the Federal Road Safety Corps visited our school and delivered a highly engaging presentation to our students to help them understand road safety better.
The students learnt about the importance of being safe pedestrians, car passengers, and drivers with particular emphasis on obeying traffic rules and lights.
Parents are expected to model good behaviour as they influence how a child perceives good behaviour on the road. Parents are expected to also actively engage their children in conversations about road safety so as to ensure they are making decisions that will help them stay safe on the road when they learn to drive.
