Welcome to the First Term of our 2020/2021 Academic Session. As you are likely aware, the government has not announced that schools should fully reopen from the start of the upcoming First Term of the 2020/2021 session. As an international school, we will continue with our Virtual (Online) Learning in line with our enriched International Curriculum. When we finally do return to school physically (as directed by the government), we will follow all safety protocols as required. Please see a video clip below showing some of the Safety Measures we have put in place to guarantee the safety of students and every member of our learning community.
- On physical resumption, it is likely we will need to make some curriculum changes to reflect the lack of contact lost during the lockdown. This will include internal testing and support where required.
- Our plan though is to have children catch up on the Nigerian content as soon as we are able and integrate it with the British Curriculum. Note that they would have already proceeded deeper in areas like Maths and English.
We as a school are aware lockdown has been a difficult time for many of us, including our pupils. Rest assured we have plans in place for any extra pastoral support students may need on physical resumption and whilst we continue online. Please share any concerns you might have regarding this issue with your child’s classroom teacher. Where and how we can help, we will help.
If you have any questions or concerns about the points we have set out above, please get in touch with Ms Maureen (07065636067) and Ms Hope (08106334006; 08182643930).
We are incredibly grateful for all the support we have received so far from the school community. We will continue to keep in touch if there are any updates to our plans or if we need to make changes due to new or updated government advice.
Warmest regards
Philip Reynolds
